This contract position offers the opportunity to influence the architecture and performance of critical systems used by our clients and internal teams. You will design and implement scalable server-side solutions, optimize databases, and contribute to a culture of excellence in software engineering.
In this role, you will work across the full development lifecycle to build robust, secure, and high-performing services. You will develop RESTful APIs, integrate with frontend applications, and ensure data integrity and reliability. You will also participate in code reviews, set coding standards, and collaborate with DevOps to implement automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and efficient deployment processes.
What you bring: hands-on experience with Node.js or PHP and a strong grasp of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. You should be comfortable with containerization (Docker), Git workflows, and cloud services. Excellent problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset are essential as you work with cross-functional teams to deliver features on time and with quality.
Responsibility
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js, PHP, or other technologies.
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and data models to support frontend features and integrations.
- Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and design teams to deliver robust features on schedule.
- Implement authentication, authorization, and security measures to protect data and services.
- Optimize database queries and performance; monitor and troubleshoot production issues.
- Participate in code reviews, establish coding standards, and contribute to CI/CD and deployment automation.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of back-end development experience in commercial environments.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js, PHP, Python, or Java, with a focus on building scalable services.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Familiarity with RESTful API design, authentication methods, and security best practices.
- Experience with containerization (Docker), version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
