Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to lead the delivery and operationalization of AI and software solutions at client sites. In this role you will bridge customer needs and technical delivery, helping enterprises in Singapore and across APAC accelerate digital transformation.
As a hands-on FDE, you will work with client engineering teams, data scientists, and product owners to design, deploy, and productionize AI/ML models, data pipelines, and software features. You will own end-to-end delivery from discovery and proof-of-concept through deployment, monitoring, and support. You will ensure robust security, reliability, and observability in production environments, using modern cloud platforms and MLOps practices.
Key focus areas include real-time analytics, API integrations, cloud-native microservices, and edge deployments where appropriate. You will mentor junior engineers, document technical solutions, and contribute to pre-sales and post-sales engagements. The role requires strong communication, customer-facing presence, and an emphasis on delivering measurable business value.

Responsibility
- Lead on-site or remote delivery engagements with customers, translating business needs into technical designs and deployment plans.
- Architect and implement AI/ML models, data pipelines, APIs, and production-ready software components; establish MLOps and monitoring.
- Collaborate with client IT, data teams, and Singtel engineers to integrate solutions with existing systems, cloud infrastructure, security controls, and data governance processes.
- Define success criteria, manage project scope, timelines, risks, and customer expectations across multiple engagements.
- Mentor client engineers and operate as a trusted advisor, building internal capability and knowledge transfer.
- Provide pre-sales support, including demonstrations and proof-of-concepts, and contribute to technical proposals.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards and maintain strong observability (logging, monitoring, alerting) in production.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years in software engineering, data engineering, or AI deployment with customer-facing experience.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience deploying ML models to production; familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting-like environment.
- Willingness to travel to client sites; ability to work across time zones and diverse teams.
- Knowledge of API design, data security, and data governance; understanding of telecom or enterprise software domains is a plus.
