We are seeking a motivated Barista to join Samalona Restaurant, a vibrant dining destination in Denpasar Timur, Bali. As a Barista, you will be at the heart of our guest experience, crafting high quality beverages and delivering warm, friendly service from open to close. The role blends craftsmanship with hospitality, requiring both technical skill and a welcoming personality.

Key responsibilities include preparing and serving a wide range of coffee and tea beverages with consistency, skill, and attention to detail; greeting guests with a genuine smile; taking orders, making recommendations, and upselling daily specials; and ensuring the cafe area remains spotless, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards. You will operate espresso machines, grinders, scales, and other equipment with care, while maintaining clean work habits and stock levels. You will collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods and help train new team members as needed.

Responsibility

  • Prepare and serve a range of coffee and non coffee beverages with consistency and high quality.
  • Greet customers, take orders, and deliver excellent service in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Operate espresso machines and other cafe equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Upsell menu items and promotions to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
  • Handle cash and POS transactions accurately; balance cash drawer at end of shift.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu, ingredients and dietary considerations; communicate allergen information to guests.
  • Collaborate with team to ensure smooth service during peak hours.

Qualification

  • Previous barista or cafe experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of espresso extraction, milk texturing and latte art.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends.
  • Basic math and cash handling skills; POS experience.
