Job description

Capco, a global technology and business consultancy focused on financial services, is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join our Life Insurance Claims practice in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will work closely with claims operations, product management, IT delivery teams, and compliance stakeholders to optimize the end-to-end claims lifecycle, improve data quality, and deliver measurable business outcomes for our clients. You will translate business needs into clear requirements, create process maps, user stories, and functional specifications, and help accelerate digital and process optimization initiatives that reduce cycle times and improve claim accuracy.

As part of Capco’s Asia practice, you will leverage your strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and customer-focused mindset to drive meaningful change. You will participate in requirements workshops, facilitate stakeholder alignment, develop business cases, and support testing, UAT, and cutover activities. Responsibility

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for life insurance claims processes across multiple products and regions.
  • Assess current claims workflows to identify bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for automation and standardization.
  • Create process maps, business rules, use cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications for IT delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams to design, test, and implement solutions; support user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation.
  • Analyze data quality, accuracy, and reporting; develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance and enable data-driven decisions.
  • Support change management, including stakeholder communication, training materials, and process documentation.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams (claims operations, data, actuarial, compliance) to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and client expectations.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field. 3-6 years of business analysis experience in life insurance or claims domain.
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance claims processes, policy types, and control requirements.
  • Proven analytical skills with experience in data analysis using SQL, Excel, Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, user stories, agile methodologies, and delivering functional specifications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Malaysian regulatory requirements governing life insurance and claims processing is a plus; willingness to travel as needed.
