Capital Dynamics is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to lead the compliance and regulatory program for our fund management operations in Malaysia. This is a high-impact role that blends policy development, risk-based oversight, and hands-on regulatory affairs to ensure robust controls, ethical business practices, and transparent reporting across our platforms.
You will own the design and execution of a scalable compliance framework that aligns with local laws and international best practices. As a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will partner with Legal, Fund Operations, Finance, and Risk teams to interpret regulatory changes from authorities such as the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), and Bursa Malaysia, translating complex requirements into practical guidance for business units.
Key areas include AML/CFT, KYC and investor due diligence, sanctions screening, regulatory reporting and licensing, and ongoing monitoring. You will lead program governance, policy updates, training, and incident management, while ensuring data integrity, secure handling of information, and timely responses to regulator inquiries. The role also involves vendor oversight, audit preparation, and continuous improvement of internal controls to reduce risk and support sustainable growth.

Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program for fund management activities in Malaysia and applicable jurisdictions.
- Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into actionable policies, procedures, and training for the organization.
- Lead AML/CFT, KYC, due diligence, and ongoing monitoring programs to prevent financial crime and ensure customer due diligence is up to date.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, licensing, registrations, and timely submissions to authorities (e.g., SC, BNM, Bursa Malaysia) and coordinate regulator interactions.
- Establish and test internal controls, conduct risk assessments, and support internal and external audits.
- Manage relationships with regulators, external counsel, and service providers; prepare responses to inquiries and investigations.
- Develop and deliver training programs; promote a strong governance culture and ethical standards across the organization.
- Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Finance, IT, and Operations to ensure data integrity, security, and remediation of compliance gaps.
Qualification
- Bachelorβs degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) are a plus.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance within fund management, asset management, or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian regulatory frameworks (Securities Commission Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia, AML/CFT, FATCA/CRS, and data privacy rules).
- Proven experience with regulatory reporting, licensing, governance frameworks, and risk-based control assessment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a hands-on approach to implementation.
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to translate complex regulations into practical guidance for diverse teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office and compliance tools; experience with regulatory tech and data analytics is a plus.
- Fluent in English; Malay language proficiency is advantageous for local regulatory interactions.
