Capital Dynamics, a leading financial services group based in Malaysia, invites a strategic and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will partner with the CEO to steer the firm’s day-to-day operations, drive operational excellence, and ensure disciplined governance across portfolio funds, fund administration, and corporate support functions.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee finance, compliance, risk management, human resources, technology, operations, and regulatory affairs. You will design and implement scalable processes, robust financial controls, and reporting frameworks to support rapid growth and investor confidence. You will lead cross-functional teams, cultivate strong relationships with regulators, auditors, service providers, and key stakeholders, and play a central role in budgeting, liquidity management, and capital allocation.
Key responsibilities include translating strategy into executable plans, optimizing cost structures, enabling data-driven decision making, and driving continuous improvement across all operations. You will champion governance, risk management, and internal controls while fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and performance excellence. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and will possess outstanding communication skills to align the executive leadership with the board and investors.

Responsibility
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to translate strategy into scalable operating plans and budgets.
- Oversee finance, compliance, risk, legal, HR, IT, and fund administration to ensure efficient, controlled operations.
- Lead fundraising activities, investor relations, and capital deployment to support growth initiatives and liquidity management.
- Implement governance structures, internal controls, and risk management frameworks aligned with local regulations and international standards.
- Drive process improvements, data analytics, and performance reporting to enable informed decision-making at the board level.
- Build and lead high-performing teams, nurture talent, succession planning, and organizational design.
- Engage with regulators, auditors, service providers, and key stakeholders to maintain a strong compliance posture.
- Champion digital transformation, cybersecurity, and technology roadmaps to support scalable operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, asset management, private equity, or fund administration.
- Proven track record of scaling operations, improving processes, and achieving cost efficiencies in a regulated environment.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, treasury, and liquidity management.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills; able to influence at the CEO, board, and investor levels.
- Deep knowledge of Malaysian regulatory landscape (securities, asset management, and financial services guidelines) and compliance best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, drive change, and foster an ethical, collaborative culture.
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in ERP systems, data analytics, risk management, and IT governance.
