Responsibility
- Provide makeup artistry for events, photoshoots, bridal sessions, and red-carpet appearances, tailoring looks to lighting, wardrobe, and occasion.
- Consult with clients to understand preferences, skin type, allergies, and event objectives; offer product recommendations and skincare prep.
- Prepare the skin, apply flawless makeup, set with appropriate products, and execute long-wear techniques for extended shoots.
- Maintain a pristine workstation, sanitize tools between clients, and adhere to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with photographers, stylists, and producers to ensure harmony of makeup with lighting, wardrobe, and set design.
- Manage time effectively to meet call times, quick-change requests, and multi-look requirements.
- Monitor inventory, request product replenishments, and responsibly handle color palettes and disposables.
Qualification
- 3+ years of professional makeup artistry experience across fashion, bridal, and editorial looks.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across skin tones, ages, and settings.
- Proficiency with a wide range of makeup brands, products, and tools; ability to color-match and adapt to lighting conditions.
- Knowledge of sanitation, kit hygiene, and safety protocols; ability to clean brushes and sanitize surfaces on set.
- Excellent communication, client service, and time-management skills; calm under pressure.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and on-location shoots; reliable transportation to LA-area venues.
- Cosmetology license or professional certifications preferred; continuing education in artistic makeup a plus.
- Ability to take direction, accept feedback, and collaborate with diverse teams.
