Join NorthStar Curation Labs as a Curation Specialist and lead the discovery, organization, and presentation of high-quality content across our platform. You will collaborate with editorial, product, and engineering teams to design scalable curation workflows, create meaningful metadata, and surface exceptional content to millions of users.
What you'll do is shape how our users encounter information by building robust taxonomy, quality gates, and curated collections that align with product goals.
Responsibility
- Design and execute end-to-end content curation workflows across categories to maximize relevance and engagement.
- Develop and maintain metadata schemas, tagging conventions, and taxonomies (e.g., schema.org, Dublin Core).
- Source, evaluate, and onboard high-quality content from partners, community submissions, and public repositories.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to implement curated collections UI and search features.
- Monitor content quality, deduplicate, and enforce copyright and licensing guidelines.
- Analyze user engagement metrics; run experiments to improve discovery and retention.
- Train and coordinate with junior curators or freelancers; document best practices.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Library/Information Science, Content Strategy, or related field.
- 2-5 years of content curation, editorial, or data curation experience.
- Strong research and critical thinking; ability to evaluate relevance and quality.
- Experience with metadata standards and tagging; familiarity with Dublin Core and schema.org.
- Proficiency with CMS and digital library tools; basic familiarity with SQL is a plus.
- Analytical mindset; ability to measure impact with metrics and experiments.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
