Lumina Atlas is a leading digital content platform focused on high-quality curation across technology, science, and culture. We are seeking a Curation Specialist to build and maintain editorial and product curation pipelines that surface the most relevant content to millions of readers. This role blends rigorous research, metadata strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate discovery and trust.
In this role you will partner with editorial, product, and data teams to define curation standards, evaluate sources, and implement scalable processes for tagging, categorization, and recommendation systems. You will help shape the tone and quality bar for our content universe and contribute to weekly content audits and performance reporting.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement editorial curation guidelines, taxonomy, and metadata standards to improve content discoverability.
- Source, vet, and prioritize high-quality content from diverse sources to meet audience needs.
- Collaborate with Editorial, Product, and Data teams to design and maintain content pipelines and tagging schemas.
- Monitor performance metrics, run content audits, and action optimization recommendations.
- Lead quarterly audits of content quality, bias minimization, and factual accuracy.
- Define and maintain editorial calendars for curated collections and thematic series.
- Recommend new tools and workflows to scale curation across platforms.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Journalism, Library Science, or a related field; 3+ years in content curation or data curation.
- Proven track record curating high-quality digital content and managing metadata/taxonomies.
- Strong research skills, source evaluation, and critical thinking.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS), search/recommendation systems and basic analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex criteria clearly.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and inclusivity in content curation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment; exposure to product or editorial product development is a plus.
