Job description

PulseTech Networks is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize scalable enterprise networks for our growing SF-based client base. This role combines hands-on engineering with strategic architecture and cross-functional collaboration.

In this position you will own network design, routing, switching, security, and performance optimization across data centers, campuses, and cloud integrations.

Responsibility

  • Design and implement enterprise network architectures including data center, campus, WAN, and cloud connectivity.
  • Configure and optimize routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP to meet reliability and performance goals.
  • Deploy and manage secure networking solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation.
  • Lead network monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning with modern observability tools.
  • Collaborate with security, cloud, and software teams to enable secure, scalable deployments.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and document architectures and runbooks.
  • Stay current with industry trends, evaluate new technologies, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency with routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and QoS.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS/Nexus and Juniper Junos; familiarity with network automation (Python, Ansible).
  • Experience with firewall and VPN technologies (IPsec, TLS), network security design, and IDS/IPS concepts.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or equivalent; professional credentials preferred.
  • Solid troubleshooting, packet capture (Wireshark), and on-call incident management skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation abilities.
