TalentVibe Business Consultancy is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer for a contract role in Singapore. In this hands-on position, you will design, implement, and operate security controls that protect critical systems, networks, and cloud environments. You will collaborate with IT, development, and risk teams to translate business requirements into robust security requirements and ensure secure delivery across projects.
Responsibilities include threat modeling, vulnerability management, and the continuous improvement of security tooling and processes. You will monitor security events, conduct incident response, perform root cause analysis, and lead postmortem reviews. You will also drive security posture through automation, configuration management, and documentation. Your work will cover on-premises and cloud platforms, with a focus on identity and access management, network security, endpoint protection, and application security in a fast-paced client environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, communicative, and comfortable translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. This contract role offers an opportunity to impact multiple clients while developing your expertise within a reputable consultancy.
Responsibility
- Design, implement and operate security controls across on-premises and cloud environments including network, host, and application security
- Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and security architecture reviews to guide secure development and implementation
- Manage vulnerability management program: scanning, remediation validation, and metrics reporting
- Monitor security events using SIEM and EDR tools; coordinate incident detection, response, and recovery activities
- Enforce identity and access management, privileged access controls, and zero trust principles
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle and DevSecOps practices
- Prepare and maintain security documentation, runbooks, and policy material; deliver security awareness to staff
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on cyber security engineering or similar role
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CEH
- Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Hands-on experience with cloud security in AWS or Azure; familiarity with GCP is a plus
- Experience with SIEM (Splunk, QRadar, or similar), EDR, and security automation tooling; scripting with Python or PowerShell
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing consultancy environment and manage multiple priorities
