Responsibility
- Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning and statistical models to solve business problems.
- Collaborate with product managers, data engineers, and software engineers to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.
- Ingest, clean, and preprocess large-scale datasets from multiple sources; ensure data quality and reproducibility.
- Experiment with feature engineering, model selection, and hyperparameter tuning to optimize performance.
- Build interpretable models and generate actionable insights with data storytelling and dashboards.
- Operationalize models within production environments using MLOps practices and monitoring tools.
- Communicate results to stakeholders and support data-driven decision making across the organization.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to a collaborative data science community.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven track record delivering end-to-end ML projects in product environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python; experience with SQL; familiarity with R is a plus.
- Experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and modern data platforms (Spark, Pandas, NumPy).
- Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and storytelling with data.
- Understanding of ML lifecycle, MLOps concepts, deployment, monitoring, and experimentation tracking.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence decisions with data.
- Authorized to work in the United States or eligible for work visa sponsorship; located in the San Francisco Bay Area is a plus.
