We are seeking a proactive Development Associate to strengthen donor engagement and drive fundraising initiatives in the Washington, DC area. In this role, you will support annual giving programs, help grow a robust donor pipeline, assist with grant research and proposal drafting, coordinate key fundraising events, and maintain accurate donor data in our CRM. Responsibility

  • Support the planning and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns (email, direct mail, social media) to grow donor participation and giving levels.
  • Manage donor relationships, respond to inquiries, and provide timely, personalized stewardship to cultivate long-term support.
  • Assist with grant research, drafting proposals, and preparing funder reports to meet funder expectations.
  • Coordinate and support fundraising events, webinars, and donor stewardship activities to maximize engagement.
  • Maintain accurate donor data in the CRM, segment audiences, and generate regular fundraising metrics and reports.
  • Collaborate with programs, finance, and communications teams to align development strategies with organizational priorities.
  • Support the annual giving program, including donor lifecycle management and moves management activities.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, public relations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or donor relations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft compelling donor-facing content and proposals.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Little Green Light) and donor database management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis; ability to generate meaningful reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
