We are seeking a proactive Development Associate to support donor relations, grant activities, and fundraising campaigns in Seattle. In this role you will partner with the Development Director to execute donor engagement strategies, manage grant calendars, and coordinate events that raise awareness and funds for our programs. You will work cross-functionally with program teams, finance, and communications to ensure transparent, compliant, and compelling donor communications.

Responsibility

  • Support donor relations by maintaining a robust donor database, processing gifts, and sending timely acknowledgments.
  • Assist in researching and drafting grant proposals and reports for foundations and government funders.
  • Coordinate fundraising events and campaigns, including logistics, volunteer recruitment, and post-event evaluation.
  • Help manage the development calendar, track progress against goals, and prepare performance reports for leadership.
  • Collaborate with program staff to measure outcomes and gather impact stories for communications and reporting.
  • Assist with prospect research, donor segmentation, and targeted outreach.
  • Support compliance with fundraising regulations and internal policies.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 2 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or grant writing within a nonprofit context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organization and project management abilities; detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
  • Proficiency with donor management systems (CRM) and Microsoft 365; comfort with data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; a passion for social impact.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for events or meetings.
