Bright Futures Foundation is seeking a passionate Development Manager to lead donor relationships and fundraising campaigns in Washington, DC. This role drives growth through strategic donor engagement, grant writing, and compelling communications that advance our mission to empower underserved communities.
As a member of our dynamic team, you will collaborate with program staff, finance, and leadership to design and execute multi-channel fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual giving, events, and foundations grants. You will also play a critical role in building a culture of philanthropy, transparency, and impact.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue targets across individual, corporate, foundation, and events channels.
- Manage and expand donor relations, ensuring timely acknowledgement, stewardship, and ongoing engagement.
- Lead grant research, writing, and reporting processes for foundation and government funders.
- Collaborate with program teams to articulate impact and outcomes for funders and campaigns.
- Plan and execute fundraising events and digital campaigns, optimizing donor acquisition and retention.
- Maintain accurate donor data in the CRM, track metrics, and provide regular dashboards to leadership.
- Collaborate with finance to manage budgets, reporting, and forecasting.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of progressive fundraising experience in a nonprofit setting.
- Demonstrated success in securing gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations; grant writing experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, storytelling, and donor stewardship skills.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang) and data-driven decision making.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with diverse stakeholders.
