We are seeking a Director, Crisis Management to anchor our client engagements across industries. This is a senior, impact-driven role based in New York City with global reach.
You will lead incident response, develop enterprise-wide crisis playbooks, and collaborate with executives to protect operations, reputation, and value during disruptive events. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, exceptional communication, and a data-informed mindset.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement enterprise crisis management programs across client organizations, aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead incident response efforts, including command-and-control, escalation, and post-incident analysis to drive measurable improvement.
- Design, exercise, and refine crisis playbooks, business continuity plans, and recovery strategies for critical functions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Security, IT, Communications, Legal, Operations) during disruptive events, ensuring swift decision-making and clear accountability.
- Provide executive communications, media briefings, and stakeholder management to protect reputation and maintain trust.
- Build governance structures, risk dashboards, and KPIs to monitor resilience maturity and preparedness.
- Mentor junior consultants, develop client-ready deliverables, and contribute to business development through thought leadership.
Qualification
- 15+ years in crisis management, risk, security, or business continuity with proven leadership in complex organizations.
- Track record leading major incident response and business continuity programs across sectors (finance, tech, manufacturing).
- Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and crisis communications expertise.
- Experience designing and executing simulated crises and tabletop exercises that drive real-world readiness.
- Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPA, or related) and professional certifications (ABC/DRII CSM, CHP, or similar).
- Analytical thinker with data-driven approach, fluent in risk assessment, business impact analysis, and metrics development.
- Ability to operate in high-pressure environments, with global teams and remote clients.
