Join the LA Pro Sports Collective as the Director of Performance Analytics. You will lead a high-performance analytics program supporting player development, performance optimization, game strategy, and injury risk management for our marquee athletes.
We are seeking a strategic leader who can translate complex data into actionable insights for coaches, medical staff, and executives while upholding data governance and ethical standards.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and execution of the performance analytics program across players, coaches, and medical staff.
- Develop and implement data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting to inform training, conditioning, and game strategy.
- Collaborate with coaching staff, sports medicine, and performance teams to translate data into actionable interventions.
- Drive data-informed decision making on player development, load management, and injury prevention.
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary analytics team, setting goals and delivering on project milestones.
- Build strong partnerships with data science, IT, and equipment vendors to ensure robust data governance and security.
- Present insights and strategic recommendations to owners, executives, and coaching leadership to influence program direction.
Qualification
- Master's degree in data science, statistics, biomechanics, kinesiology, or related field (or 7+ years of equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in sports analytics or high-performance athletic environments.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R, SQL, and advanced data visualization (Tableau/Power BI).
- Hands-on experience with wearable and sensor data (GPS, HRV, accelerometry) and performance metrics.
- Proven leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong ability to translate data into actionable recommendations for coaches and executives.
- Knowledge of predictive modeling and machine learning applications in sports; familiarity with ML libraries and experimentation design.
