NovaSports Performance is a premier agency dedicated to unlocking peak athletic potential and delivering world-class performance strategies for professional teams and athletes. We are looking for a Senior Sports Data Analyst who can transform complex data into actionable insights that inform scouting, performance optimization, and talent development.
In this role you will partner with coaching, medical, and performance staffs to build data-driven narratives that drive strategic decisions across roster development and game strategy.
Responsibility
- Develop and maintain advanced analytics dashboards tracking player performance, team metrics, and injury risk across leagues.
- Collaborate with coaching and performance teams to translate data into actionable game plans and player development strategies.
- Lead data collection, cleaning, and validation from multiple sources (wearables, video analytics, scouting reports).
- Build predictive models to forecast performance trends, injury likelihood, and scouting outcomes.
- Present findings to executives and stakeholders with clear storytelling and data visualization.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a data-driven culture within the organization.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Kinesiology, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in sports analytics or performance analytics within professional sports.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python (pandas, numpy), and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
- Experience with wearable data, biomechanics metrics, game analytics, and video data integration.
- Strong business acumen, communication, and ability to present complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of machine learning methods and a track record of delivering impact on roster decisions or game strategy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
