Job description

Mindteck is seeking an experienced Embedded Android Developer to join our Malaysia-based team. You will design, implement, and enhance embedded Android applications running on ARM-based hardware, collaborating with software and hardware engineers to deliver robust solutions.

As part of our dynamic embedded systems group, you will contribute to cutting-edge projects by building efficient, secure, and scalable software on Android for embedded devices. You will analyze OSS libraries with WhiteSource, identify remediation steps, and apply patches when available, then validate changes across impacted areas to ensure compliance and security.

In this role, you will work closely with hardware teams to integrate the Android OS, device drivers, and BSP components, optimize performance and power consumption, and support CI/CD pipelines and OTA update processes. You will debug issues, perform rigorous testing, and help drive release readiness across multiple SKUs. Mindteck offers a collaborative environment, ongoing learning opportunities, and a clear path for career growth in embedded systems.

We value initiative, teamwork, and clear communication. You'll join a global team delivering high-quality embedded Android solutions across industries, with exposure to cutting-edge hardware platforms and software practices. If you are passionate about embedded systems, Android development, and OSS governance, we want to hear from you.

  • Manage OSS license compliance, SBOM generation, and security vulnerability remediation.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes, including OTA updates.
  • Debug, profile, and optimize performance, memory usage, power consumption, and system stability on target devices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for field issues and cross-functional teams.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

  • Solid knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems, ARM architectures, device drivers, and BSPs.
  • Experience with OSS governance tools (WhiteSource or similar), license compliance, and security remediation.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar), and automated testing.
