We are seeking a detail-oriented Fisheries Compliance and Quality Assurance Specialist to safeguard regulatory adherence and data integrity across our operations in the Northeast.
You will partner with fisheries managers, researchers, and regulatory bodies to ensure our practices meet national and regional standards while driving continuous improvement in data collection and operational quality.
Responsibility
- Oversee regulatory compliance, prepare for audits, and maintain up-to-date SOPs for fishing operations and processing.
- Manage record-keeping for catch data, quotas, and stock assessments to support sustainable harvest.
- Coordinate with field teams to verify data accuracy, sampling protocols, and environmental reporting.
- Collaborate with QA teams to implement corrective actions and track performance metrics.
- Prepare regulatory submissions and communicate findings to stakeholders and regulators.
- Assist in the development of training programs on compliance, safety, and quality systems.
- Support supply chain partners with documentation to ensure traceability from catch to consumer.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in fisheries compliance, QA/QC, or regulatory reporting.
- Strong understanding of MSY concepts, stock assessment basics, and catch documentation requirements.
- Proficiency with data management, Excel, and basic GIS or mapping tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with regulators, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with proven problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in field conditions and travel as needed within the Northeast region.
