Join Evergreen Nexus Forestry as a Forestry Planner and help shape sustainable forest management across private and public lands in Portland, Oregon. This role blends field insights with data-driven planning to deliver high-impact forest stewardship projects.
As part of our Natural Resources team, you will translate field observations, stand measurements, and GIS data into actionable management prescriptions that protect ecosystem services, support timber productivity, and reduce wildfire and pest risks.

Responsibility
- Develop and implement forestry management plans aligned with sustainable practices and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze GIS data, remote sensing imagery, and field surveys to inform stand-level prescriptions.
- Coordinate with landowners, agencies, loggers, and consultants to execute projects on schedule and within budget.
- Monitor forest health, wildfire risk, invasive species, and habitat restoration efforts; adjust plans as needed.
- Prepare technical reports, mapping products, and permit applications for compliance and stakeholder communication.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and transparent reporting of project outcomes.
- Support monitoring and adaptive management to evaluate effectiveness and guide future work.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Professional forestry licensure or willingness to obtain (e.g., RPF) is a plus.
- 3+ years of forestry planning, silviculture, or related field experience.
- Strong GIS and data analysis skills; proficiency with ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Experience with field data collection, timber cruising, and stand delineation.
- Knowledge of environmental permitting, wildfire risk assessment, and habitat conservation.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively; valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
