Responsibility
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes to high standards, ensuring consistency and presentation.
- Assist Head Chef with menu planning, recipe development, portion control, and cost management.
- Maintain clean, organized kitchen and equipment; adhere to sanitation standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen controls, and local regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with daily inventory, receive deliveries, and minimize waste.
- Plate dishes with professional presentation; maintain plating standards for dine-in and take-away.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff; foster a collaborative team environment.
- Coordinate with front-of-house team to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
Qualification
- Proven experience as a chef in a busy kitchen, typically 2+ years.
- Formal culinary training or relevant certification from a recognised institution.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent knife skills and foundation in cooking techniques.
- Team player with effective communication and time-management abilities.
