As a core member of the payroll operation function, you will lead end to end payroll improvements, drive automation, standardize workflows, and implement robust controls that reduce risk. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to optimize data flows from timekeeping to payroll ledger, support tax filings and benefits administration, and maintain accurate HR information systems integrations. You will monitor key metrics, produce actionable insights, and present updates to senior leadership. Responsibility
- Lead and optimize payroll processes across regions to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.
- Partner with HR, Finance and IT to design scalable payroll workflows and data flows from timekeeping to payroll ledger.
- Drive automation and process standardization to reduce manual effort and improve data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, tax filings, benefits administration and data privacy regulations.
- Maintain and optimize payroll system configurations and integrations with HRIS such as Workday or SAP.
- Monitor key payroll metrics, generate governance reports, and present insights to leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audits, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with vendors and external partners to manage SLAs and ensure reliable payroll operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of payroll or HR operations experience, ideally in a global technology company.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysia payroll tax rules and statutory compliance and local filings.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle; integration experience is a plus.
- Data analytics proficiency with strong Excel skills; ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across regions and functions.
- Project management or process improvement certifications (eg Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
