We are seeking a History Content Strategist to join our interdisciplinary team in Boston, MA. This role blends rigorous historical research with strategic content development to educate diverse audiences about global history.
As a member of our Education & Research division, you will translate archival findings into accessible narratives, scholarly articles, and multimedia assets that inform public understanding and academic discourse.
Responsibility
- Plan and execute archival and bibliographic research to uncover compelling historical narratives aligned with program goals.
- Develop clear content strategies for articles, web pages, podcasts, and exhibit captions that engage general and scholarly audiences.
- Collaborate with historians, educators, designers, and curators to produce accurate, accessible, and inclusive historical materials.
- Oversee metadata tagging, citation standards, and quality control to maintain scholarly rigor.
- Draft and edit high-impact essays, blog posts, and teaching resources with strong narrative arc.
- Coordinate research outputs with digital archive initiatives and exhibit development teams.
- Present findings to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to grant writing and report drafting.
Qualification
- Master's degree or higher in History, Public History, or related field; PhD preferred.
- 5+ years of research-driven writing and content development in academic, museum, or cultural heritage settings.
- Proficient in archival research, source evaluation, and historiography methods.
- Strong editorial skills with experience in academic or public-facing publishing.
- Experience with metadata standards, citation styles (Chicago/Turabian), and digital storytelling tools.
- Excellent communication and project management abilities; able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in at least one digital humanities tool or data visualization platform is a plus.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in historical narratives.
