Novus Heritage Group is seeking a highly motivated History Researcher to join our interdisciplinary team dedicated to rigorous scholarship and public history impact. The successful candidate will conduct archival research, analyze primary sources, and contribute to exhibitions, online publications, and educational programs. You will collaborate with curators, educators, and fellow researchers to develop interpretive narratives that bring history to diverse audiences. This role blends traditional archival methods with modern digital humanities approaches to produce compelling, accessible history outcomes.
Responsibility
- Conduct archival and repository research using primary sources and secondary literature to produce well-sourced historical analyses.
- Develop interpretive content for exhibitions, labels, catalogs, and online platforms.
- Collaborate with curators, educators, and researchers to design engaging public history programs.
- Analyze and synthesize archival data to support grant proposals and project reporting.
- Prepare scholarly briefs, publications, and presentations for academic and public audiences.
- Mentor graduate and research assistants; manage bibliographies and data organization.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in History or related field; PhD preferred for advanced research roles.
- Minimum 3 years of archival research and primary-source analysis experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex history to diverse audiences.
- Experience with digital humanities tools and methods (TEI, digitization workflows, data management).
- Proven track record of working with museums, archives, libraries, or public history projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams.
- Proficiency in citations and academic research standards (Chicago or MLA).
