We are seeking a skilled Horticulture Technician who can contribute to plant health, propagation, and efficient cultivation. This role blends hands-on fieldwork with data-driven practices to ensure thriving crops and beautiful landscapes.
Responsibility
- Maintain and monitor plant health in greenhouses, nurseries, and outdoor beds.
- Execute propagation, transplanting, pruning, and scheduling with precision.
- Monitor environmental controls (temperature, humidity, irrigation) and adjust to optimize growth.
- Conduct routine pest scouting and apply integrated pest management strategies.
- Record growth data, fertilization, and treatments in our systems for traceability.
- Assist with seasonal planting, crop rotation, and harvest scheduling.
- Ensure safety and compliant use of tools and chemicals; maintain clean, organized workspaces.
- Collaborate with horticulture team on landscape projects and community programs.
Qualification
- Associate degree or diploma in Horticulture, Plant Science, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on horticulture experience in nurseries, greenhouses, or landscapes.
- Strong knowledge of plant propagation, irrigation, soil science, and pest management.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot greenhouse equipment and basic irrigation systems.
- Excellent observational skills and meticulous record-keeping.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English; willingness to learn Dutch terminology if non-native.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
