Join VerdantBio Horticulture, a forward-thinking leader in sustainable plant production and landscape care. We’re seeking a motivated Horticulture Technician to support greenhouse operations, plant propagation, and field cultivation across our California facilities. This role blends hands-on horticulture with meticulous data tracking to ensure healthy plants, optimal yields, and compliant practices.
As a Horticulture Technician, you will work with a collaborative team of agronomists, horticulturists, and researchers to advance our cultivation programs and client garden initiatives.
Responsibility
- Maintain and monitor greenhouse environments (temperature, humidity, light) using sensors and data logs to meet crop requirements.
- Assist with propagation, transplanting, pruning, and crop scheduling to ensure optimal growth and yields.
- Monitor plant health, diagnose disorders, and apply integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
- Operate and calibrate irrigation and fertigation systems; manage water quality and nutrient programs.
- Collect, record, and analyze growth data; support trials and research projects.
- Follow standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance in all activities.
- Support landscape installation and maintenance for client sites as needed.
Qualification
- Associate degree in horticulture, agronomy, botany, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of greenhouse operations, propagation, or field horticulture experience.
- Strong knowledge of IPM, nutrient management, soil science, and irrigation practices.
- Proficient in data entry and basic data analysis (Excel, Google Sheets).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on, outdoor work in varying weather.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: California Pesticide Applicator License or willingness to obtain; valid driver’s license.
