Responsibility
- Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation across meetings, conferences, teleconference calls, and onsite events.
- Prepare terminology glossaries and maintain subject matter familiarity across legal, medical, and business contexts.
- Set up and operate interpretation equipment, including portable booths and headsets, ensuring optimal audio fidelity.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, building rapport with clients, attendees, and speakers.
- Attend pre-event briefings to understand agendas and terminology requirements.
- Document and report interpretation notes, ensuring accurate outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with project teams to tailor interpretation methods to settings and audiences.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Interpretation, Linguistics, Translation, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of professional interpretation experience in at least two languages, with English as a core requirement.
- Certification in interpretation (e.g., NAD, NIC, CMI) is a plus.
- Proficiency in medical, legal, or technical terminology and contexts as relevant to the role.
- Excellent note-taking, memory, and rapid processing abilities; strong public speaking skills.
- Familiarity with interpretation equipment and booth setup; ability to troubleshoot audio issues.
- Strong cultural competence, ethical standards, and client-focused communication.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends for multi-day events.
