Aurora Capital Partners, a premier investment firm focused on growth equity and private credit, is seeking an Investment Analyst to join our thriving New York City team. This role offers hands-on exposure to sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring investments with ownership of research that informs strategic decisions.
As an Investment Analyst, you will collaborate with senior professionals to source opportunities, build rigorous financial models, and craft compelling investment memos for the investment committee. The ideal candidate demonstrates intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, and a passion for prudent, data-driven investing.
Responsibility
- Conduct fundamental research and financial modeling for potential investments across multiple sectors.
- Build and maintain valuation models (DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions) and perform scenario analyses.
- Prepare investment theses, memos, and presentations for the investment committee and external stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio companies, track performance KPIs, and assess ongoing risk and return drivers.
- Coordinate due diligence initiatives with internal teams and external advisers.
- Support deal execution, including term sheet benchmarking and closing processes.
- Collaborate with research and operations teams to synthesize data and insights for decision-making.
- Develop a deep understanding of market trends and competitive dynamics to inform investment decisions.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or related field; CFA level I or equivalent preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, asset management, or private equity.
- Advanced financial modeling skills (DCF, LBO, comps) and proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Python or SQL a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methods, and risk assessment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
