NovaGate Capital, a premier investment firm in New York City, is seeking a diligent and analytical Investment Analyst to join our growing team. You will support portfolio analytics, build and refine financial models, and conduct comprehensive market research to inform investment decisions across public and private markets. Responsibility
- Build and maintain advanced financial models (DCF, multiples, sensitivity analysis) to evaluate investment opportunities.
- Prepare investment memos, presentations, and dashboards for senior leadership and the investment committee.
- Conduct due diligence on potential investments, including market sizing, competitive landscape, and management quality.
- Monitor portfolio performance, track key metrics, and perform variance and risk analyses against targets.
- Collaborate with research, risk, operations, and legal teams to ensure investment processes comply with policy and regulatory standards.
- Assist in sourcing and screening new opportunities through market research, networking, and data-driven analysis.
- Maintain continuous learning of market trends, asset classes, and macroeconomic factors affecting investments.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in investment analysis, equity research, or asset management.
- Strong financial modeling skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience with Bloomberg Terminal or similar data platforms; SQL or Python is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in markets, macroeconomics, and ongoing professional development.
