Responsibility

  • Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen operations to ensure consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation.
  • Prepare and cook menu items with a focus on quality, freshness, and efficient line execution during service.
  • Manage kitchen stations, supervise junior staff, and coordinate tasks to maintain smooth service during peak hours.
  • Monitor food safety, sanitation, HACCP compliance, and cleanliness of prep and storage areas.
  • Collaborate on menu planning, seasonal specials, and ingredient sourcing with suppliers and the culinary team.
  • Oversee mise en place, inventory control, and waste management to support cost control and freshness.
  • Assist with plating presentation, quality checks, and timely dish delivery to diners.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior cooks, fostering a collaborative, high-performance kitchen culture.

Qualification

  • Diploma or equivalent culinary qualification from a recognized institution.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen, ideally in a similar role.
  • Solid knowledge of culinary techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong team leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
