StaffKing Pte Ltd is hiring a Kitchen Assistant / Cook for our Western Cafe located in Tanglin Mall, Singapore. This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a vibrant cafe environment known for Western comfort fare and friendly service. Working in a Western cafe requires attention to detail, good organization and a positive attitude. The role is based on a 6-day work week with shifts of approximately 7.5 hours, designed to support peak service periods from morning to evening (8:00 am to 9:00 pm). Key responsibilities include preparing mise en place, assisting in cooking and plating Western dishes, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and hygiene. You will also assist with stock checks, receiving deliveries and coordinating with the front-of-house team to ensure timely service. This is a hands-on role that offers growth opportunities for reliable kitchen staff to advance towards more senior culinary positions.

Responsibility
- Assist in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place and cooking support for Western cafe dishes
- Support chefs with food preparation, portion control and plating to ensure consistent presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including sanitation and equipment safety
- Handle stock checks, receiving deliveries, inventory rotation and restocking as needed
- Assist with dishwashing, waste management and maintaining a safe, compliant work environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house and kitchen staff to deliver timely and high-quality meals
- Adhere to food safety standards and temperature controls to minimize waste and ensure guest satisfaction
Qualification
- Prior experience as a kitchen assistant or cook in a Western cafe or similar kitchen
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and HACCP principles
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
- Strong teamwork, communication and reliable work ethic
- Willingness to work a 6-day work week with rotating shifts
- Basic knife skills and cooking techniques with eagerness to learn
- Good time management and multitasking skills
