Lumina Beauty Collective is seeking a Lead Makeup Artist to join our premier team in Los Angeles. You will craft stunning bridal and editorial looks for clients, campaigns, and events, delivering a premium experience from initial consultation to final perfection.
As a Lead Makeup Artist, you will mentor junior artists, maintain peak hygiene standards, and collaborate with photographers, stylists, and clients to translate vision into flawless makeup that photographs beautifully.
We specialize in elevated, camera-ready makeup that enhances natural features while delivering long-lasting wear and skin-friendly formulations. If you are passionate about artistry, client care, and professional growth, this role is for you.
Responsibility
- Perform high-end bridal makeup, editorial looks, and campaign makeup for clients and shoots.
- Consult with clients to understand their vision, skin type, and comfort level; provide color theory guidance and product recommendations.
- Lead on-set or in-studio sessions, ensuring on-time, flawless application and photo-ready results.
- Mentor and support junior artists; maintain grooming, sanitation, and kit organization standards.
- Collaborate with photographers, stylists, and producers to achieve cohesive visual storytelling.
- Maintain inventory, restock products, and manage kit hygiene and sanitization protocols.
- Stay current with industry trends, color palettes, and new products; participate in continued education.
- Uphold brand standards and deliver a luxurious client experience from first contact to post-service follow-up.
Qualification
- Minimum 5 years of professional makeup artistry, with strong bridal and editorial portfolios.
- Proficiency with diverse skin tones, textures, and lighting environments; experience with airbrushing a plus.
- Excellent communication, listening, and client-relations skills; ability to translate vision into makeup designs.
- Proven on-set experience; ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage time effectively.
- Strong sanitation and hygiene practices; knowledge of skin-safe products and allergy awareness.
- Ability to travel for weddings, shoots, and events; reliable transportation and steady availability for weekends/evenings.
- Portfolio showcasing editorial, bridal, and beauty looks; references available upon request.
- LA-based permit/work authorization or eligibility to work in the United States.
