Job description

Methodist Welfare Services (MWS) is seeking an experienced Lead Social Worker to oversee Family Service Centres (FSC) and deliver high quality casework, counseling, and community-based support to vulnerable families in Singapore. This role blends strategic leadership with frontline practice, program development, and cross-sector collaboration to safeguard children, strengthen families, and promote social inclusion across diverse communities.

As the Lead Social Worker for the FSC, you will guide a multidisciplinary team, foster partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations, and ensure services are responsive to the evolving needs of our clients. Responsibility

  • Lead and supervise a team of social workers within the Family Service Centre to deliver integrated, family-centered services.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized case plans, implement interventions, and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Provide direct counseling and support to vulnerable families and children, including crisis intervention and safety planning.
  • Develop and coordinate community partnerships, referrals, and multidisciplinary collaboration to maximize client outcomes.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation, data entry, and compliance with safeguarding, ethics, and regulatory standards.
  • Drive program development, quality improvement initiatives, and staff training to enhance service effectiveness.
  • Represent the FSC in internal and external forums, advocate for client needs, and participate in policy and service development initiatives.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field; professional registration or eligibility in Singapore.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant social work experience, with preference for family services and leadership exposure.
  • Strong counseling, case management, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, diverse environment; culturally sensitive.
  • Proficiency with electronic case management systems and commitment to data privacy and ethical practice.
