Job description

Momentum Athletics Academy is expanding its coaching team in Austin, TX. We are seeking a motivated Lead Sports Coach to design and deliver engaging, high-performance coaching across our youth and amateur programs. Responsibility

  • Lead planning and execution of weekly coaching sessions across multiple age groups, ensuring progressive skill development.
  • Design sport-specific curricula and practice plans aligned with program goals and safety standards.
  • Monitor athlete progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate performance records.
  • Mentor and supervise junior coaches and program assistants to cultivate leadership and consistency.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and partners to communicate progress and opportunities.
  • Plan and run clinics, camps, and trial sessions to recruit athletes and showcase programming.
  • Manage equipment, facilities, and safety protocols to maintain a clean, safe training environment.
  • Stay current with coaching best practices, certifications, and industry trends to enhance program quality.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Kinesiology, or equivalent; or recognized coaching certifications (e.g., US Soccer, US Basketball, NSCAA) with a minimum of 3-5 years coaching youth.
  • Proven ability to design age-appropriate curricula and track development milestones.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and motivational skills with a track record of building positive athlete cultures.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and knowledge of safety protocols; commitment to Safe Sport and child protection standards.
  • Willingness to travel for camps and events; ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Proficiency in data tracking tools and reporting to measure program impact; comfortable with parent communication.
