Job description

Momentum Athletics Coaching is seeking a passionate Lead Sports Coach to join our expanding team in Austin, Texas. You will design and deliver high-performance training programs across youth, high school, and adult leagues, focusing on skill development, tactical understanding, and peak physical conditioning.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, implement safe training environments, track athlete progress, and foster a culture of discipline, respect, and continuous improvement.

Responsibility

  • Lead the planning and delivery of structured coaching sessions for athletes across multiple age groups.
  • Design periodized training programs, drills, and assessments to improve technical, tactical, and physical performance.
  • Provide real-time feedback, video analysis, and performance data to guide improvement.
  • Coordinate with school and club partners to align with curricula and schedules.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating training environment.
  • Mentor assistant coaches and volunteers; lead by example in professionalism and sportsmanship.
  • Monitor injuries, implement prevention strategies, and liaise with medical staff as needed.
  • Contribute to recruitment, program marketing, and community outreach to grow participation.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field; or equivalent coaching certifications (USSF, USAPL, NCCP, etc.).
  • Active coaching certification preferred (CPR/First Aid certified).
  • Minimum 3 years of coaching experience with youth and/or adult athletes.
  • Strong knowledge of sport-specific techniques, conditioning, and safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to design age-appropriate training plans and track progress.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills; fluent in English.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Passion for mentoring athletes and maintaining a high-performance coaching standard.
