Join Prime Performance Sports Academy as a Lead Sports Coach in Austin, Texas. We develop youth and amateur athletes across multiple sports, focusing on skill development, performance, and character growth. You will design engaging, evidence-based sessions and inspire a love of sport.
Role highlights:
- Lead structured coaching sessions for participants across age groups, adapting drills to ability and goals.
- Plan, deliver, and assess progressive training blocks; monitor safety, injury prevention, and warm-ups.
- Collaborate with program directors to align with curriculum, competition schedule, and facility usage.
- Mentor assistant coaches and volunteers; provide feedback and leadership on the field/court.
- Foster an inclusive, competitive, and positive training environment; champion teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Communicate clearly with parents/ guardians about progress, schedules, and expectations.
- Evaluate performance metrics and help athletes set and achieve personal development goals.

Responsibility
- Design and deliver sport-specific coaching sessions aligned with our development framework.
- Lead warm-ups, technical drills, tactical instruction, and conditioning for multiple skill levels.
- Assess athletes’ progress and adjust coaching plans to maximize improvement and safety.
- Foster safe, inclusive, and competitive training environments; promote sportsmanship and teamwork.
- Collaborate with parent/guardian communications, scheduling, and program administration.
- Mentor assistant coaches and volunteers; provide feedback and leadership opportunities.
- Monitor facility safety controls and ensure equipment is maintained and safe.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, sports science, physical education, or related field (or equivalent coaching experience).
- Coaching certification (e.g., USSF, NCCA, NFHS, or national equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of coaching experience with youth or amateur athletes.
- Strong knowledge of sport-specific skills, safety protocols, and injury prevention.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills.
- Ability to plan, assess, and adapt sessions for diverse skill levels and ages.
