Widad University College invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Ophthalmology. This role blends high-quality medical education with clinical teaching and active research leadership within our expanding health sciences faculty in Kuantan, Pahang. We are seeking a postgraduate-qualified ophthalmologist who is committed to excellence in teaching, patient care, and scholarly activity.
Ideal candidates will hold a Master’s (MS/MD) or equivalent in Ophthalmology and demonstrate a track record of research and publications. The successful appointee will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise clinical rotations, and mentor students through research projects that advance clinical practice and patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include delivering engaging lectures and hands-on ophthalmology sessions, updating teaching materials, and contributing to curriculum development. The role also involves supervising residents and fellows, assessing student performance, and promoting evidence-based education. Active participation in research initiatives, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of findings at conferences is expected.

Responsibility
- Deliver and continuously update ophthalmology curriculum for medical students and residents, including lectures, practical sessions, and case-based discussions.
- Supervise clinical rotations, assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and support skill development.
- Lead and participate in ophthalmology research projects; mentor students in study design, data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation.
- Develop innovative teaching materials, e-learning modules, and simulation scenarios to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with clinical services to integrate education with patient care; participate in rounds, grand rounds, and journal clubs.
- Promote scholarly activity, pursue grant opportunities, and present findings at national and international conferences.
- Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and inter-professional education across health sciences.
Qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology (Master's MS/MD or equivalent).
- Active involvement in research with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated teaching and supervision experience in medical education.
- Strong clinical experience in ophthalmology and patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in Malaysia; proficient in English; strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with research methodologies, biostatistics, and ethical conduct of research.
