Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care for individuals seeking midwifery services in accordance with professional standards.
  • Develop individualized birth plans and support patients through labor using evidence based techniques and patient choice.
  • Monitor fetal well being, manage labor progression, and respond to emergencies with calm, skilled decision making.
  • Educate patients and families on prenatal nutrition, newborn care, lactation, and postpartum recovery.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and other specialists to ensure holistic, safe, and respectful care.
  • Document care in the electronic health record accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualification

  • Active midwifery license or certification recognized in Washington State (CNM or CPM) with eligibility to practice in WA.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical midwifery experience in prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum settings.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence based obstetric care and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and cultural humility.
  • Basic life support and neonatal resuscitation program certification; BLS, NRP preferred.
