As a Licensed Midwife or CNM, you will provide comprehensive prenatal care, support labor and birth, and offer postpartum and lactation support. Our center emphasizes family-centered care, informed consent, and clear communication in a warm, welcoming environment.
Responsibilities include collaborating with obstetricians, managing normal pregnancies, addressing risk factors, maintaining accurate medical records, and educating families about birth options and postpartum recovery. Requirements include valid midwifery certification, state licensure, CPR certification, clinical experience in intrapartum and postpartum care, proficiency with EMR, and a commitment to culturally competent care.
Responsibility
- Provide comprehensive prenatal care, risk assessment, and birth planning for assigned clients.
- Support labor and birth, including continuous bedside presence and evidence-based pain management options.
- Perform postpartum and newborn assessments, and support breastfeeding and lactation goals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals to ensure safe, high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical records and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Educate families on birth options, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and informed decision-making.
- Promote culturally sensitive care and advocate for patient autonomy and informed consent.
Qualification
- Active state midwifery licensure or CNM credential with eligibility to practice in Oregon
- Minimum 2-5 years of clinical midwifery experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based intrapartum care and newborn assessment
- Excellent communication, counseling, and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic medical records and patient education tools
- Ability to manage complex cases with a calm, patient-centered approach
- Commitment to culturally competent care and patient advocacy
