Quanta Analytics is seeking a Mathematics Research Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team of mathematicians, data scientists, and engineers in Cambridge, MA. You will design and implement advanced mathematical models to solve real-world problems in finance, technology, and operations research. Responsibility
- Develop and refine mathematical models for complex systems in finance, risk, or optimization.
- Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to operationalize models.
- Implement algorithms in Python, Julia, or MATLAB; optimize code for performance.
- Design experiments, perform simulations, and analyze results to inform decisions.
- Publish research findings in internal reports and external journals; present to stakeholders.
- Mentor and supervise junior analysts and interns.
- Maintain rigorous documentation and reproducible workflows.
Qualification
- PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; or a master's with substantial research experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in quantitative research, modeling, or algorithm development.
- Strong proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas) and at least one of Julia, R, MATLAB.
- Solid knowledge of stochastic processes, numerical methods, optimization, and linear algebra.
- Experience with high-performance computing, version control (Git), and reproducible research practices.
- Strong communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Track record of publications or documented research impact.
