NovaQuant Labs is seeking a Senior Mathematics Research Scientist to join our interdisciplinary team focused on advancing mathematical methods for data science, finance, and scientific computing. This role blends theoretical research with applied project work and collaboration with engineers, scientists, and product stakeholders.
The successful candidate will design and analyze novel mathematical models, perform rigorous analysis, and translate results into scalable solutions for real-world systems. You will contribute to publications, present findings at major conferences, and help shape our research roadmap.

Responsibility
- Lead development and execution of advanced mathematical models and algorithms for real-world applications.
- Design and oversee rigorous theoretical and empirical research studies, including proof-based analysis and numerical verification.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to translate mathematical insights into scalable solutions.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences; contribute to open-source projects.
- Mentor PhD interns and junior researchers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive research culture.
- Prepare grant proposals, manage budgets, and track milestones for funded projects.
- Ensure reproducible research practices, maintain rigorous documentation, and promote high-quality code and data governance.
Qualification
- PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- 4+ years of post-PhD research experience or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong background in numerical analysis, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, MATLAB, or R; experience with scientific computing and data analysis.
- Demonstrated track record of publishing in peer-reviewed venues and presenting at conferences; grant-writing experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset; ability to explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities; independent, proactive researcher.
