Job description
NovaTech Networks is seeking a skilled Network Technician to install, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure for our enterprise clients. You will work closely with IT operations, network engineers, and security teams to ensure reliable connectivity across data centers and remote sites.
In this role you will configure routers, switches, and wireless access points, perform network monitoring, resolve outages, and assist with capacity planning and documentation.

Responsibility
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) across multiple sites.
- Monitor network performance using industry-standard tools and respond to incidents with speed and precision.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues for end users and remote locations; document root causes and provide timely resolutions.
- Assist with network security measures, VPNs, access control, and firewall policies.
- Participate in capacity planning, cable management, and documentation of network topology.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement network upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Maintain inventory, track assets, and ensure compliance with change management procedures.
- Provide on-call support as required and mentor junior staff on best practices.
Qualification
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise networking (LAN/WAN) and wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching/routing concepts, and VLANs.
- Experience with Cisco or equivalent networking equipment; familiarity with CCNA/CCNP concepts is a plus.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and documentation; effective communication skills.
- Compassion for security and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and patch management.
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent) are preferred.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate strong teamwork.
