Responsibility
- Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks to ensure uptime and performance.
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
- Manage IP addressing, VLANs, routing, and switching policies with minimal downtime during changes.
- Perform network performance testing, capacity planning, and problem isolation with clear documentation.
- Respond to network incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement lasting fixes.
- Collaborate with IT security to enforce policies, conduct basic vulnerability remediation, and monitor threats.
- Assist with site surveys, cable management, and physical network infrastructure tasks.
- Maintain up-to-date network diagrams and documentation in the ITSM system.
Qualification
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in network operations or a related IT field.
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, and switching concepts.
- Experience with Cisco or Juniper or Fortinet devices and basic firewall concepts.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as ping, traceroute, Wireshark, and SNMP.
- Familiarity with VPN and remote access technologies; able to support remote sites.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent communication and documentation.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network Plus, or equivalent are preferred.
- BS in IT or related field is a plus; equivalent work experience will be considered.
