PrimeNet Solutions is seeking a proactive Network Technician to join our IT operations team in Seattle, WA. You will install, monitor, and maintain local and wide area networks, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure the reliability and security of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines hands on technical skills with great communication and a customer focused mindset.
In this role you will collaborate with network engineers, systems administrators, and support teams to deliver high availability services to our clients and internal users.
Responsibility
- Install, configure, and maintain networking devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, perform capacity planning, and diagnose issues to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot connectivity problems for endpoints and remote sites via VPN and WAN links.
- Implement and manage security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access policies.
- Document network topology, changes, and asset inventory; participate in change and problem management.
- Assist with equipment procurement, rack and stack, and lifecycle management of network devices.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for network incidents and collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning with regular backups and redundant configurations.
Qualification
- 1-3+ years of hands on experience in network operations or related IT roles with networking exposure.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification; CCNP is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, switching, routing, and NAT.
- Experience with Cisco IOS and other vendor devices such as Juniper or HPE.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as Wireshark, PRTG, SolarWinds, and ticketing systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and participate in on call rotation if required.
