NovaTech Networks is seeking a customer-focused Network Technician to join our Austin team. In this role you will install, monitor, and support complex network infrastructures for enterprise clients, ensuring uptime, security, and optimal performance. This is a hands-on position ideal for professionals who enjoy solving problems and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
As a Network Technician, you will configure and maintain switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN solutions, while documenting configurations and changes for knowledge sharing and compliance. You will work with our engineering and service delivery teams to support multi-site environments and respond quickly to incidents.
Responsibility
- Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity and network performance, resolving issues with minimal downtime.
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN devices from various vendors.
- Manage wireless networks, perform site surveys, spectrum analysis, and optimize coverage and capacity.
- Utilize network monitoring tools (for example SolarWinds, PRTG, ManageEngine) to detect, analyze, and resolve incidents.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, change requests, and incident reports to support knowledge transfer and audits.
- Collaborate with IT administrators and service teams to plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance windows.
- Provide excellent on-site and remote support, with effective communication and ticketing updates.
Qualification
- Associates degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of hands-on network support experience in enterprise or MSP environments.
- CCNA or equivalent certification required; CCNP or higher is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, and network security concepts.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or HP/Aruba network devices and basic firewall concepts.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and ticketing tools; excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, on-call rotation, and occasional after-hours maintenance windows.
- U.S. work authorization is required.
