Join ApexWave Technologies as a Network Technician in Austin, TX. You will install, maintain, and optimize wired and wireless networks, ensuring uptime and security for clients and internal teams. This role blends hands-on hardware work with practical troubleshooting and customer collaboration.
As part of our network operations crew, you'll work with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and monitoring tools to deliver reliable connectivity for diverse environments, from SMBs to enterprise deployments. We value proactive problem solving, meticulous documentation, and continuous improvement.
Responsibility
- Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless networks, and VPN connections to meet performance and security standards.
- Manage network devices (Cisco, Juniper), firewalls, and related security controls; perform firmware updates and hardening.
- Monitor network health using SNMP-based tools and respond to incidents with root-cause analysis and remediation steps.
- Provide on-site and remote support, communicating clearly with customers and internal teams.
- Document network diagrams, changes, and runbooks; assist with capacity and disaster-recovery planning.
- Collaborate with security, systems, and data teams to implement best practices and ensure compliance.
- Assist with network upgrades, migrations, and project initiatives while maintaining uptime and service levels.
Qualification
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in network administration, installation, and troubleshooting.
- CCNA or equivalent certification; pursuing CCNP or higher is a plus.
- Experience configuring Cisco IOS/Nexus devices and Juniper equipment; familiarity with routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN (IPSec), and routing protocols.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and analysis tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Wireshark.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills; ability to document findings clearly.
- Ability to read network diagrams and implement changes in production environments; on-call rotation may be required.
