NovaTech Solutions is seeking a Network Technician to join our growing IT Infrastructure team in Austin, TX. You will monitor, maintain, and optimize enterprise networks, ensuring uptime and security for critical services. In this role you will install, configure, and troubleshoot network devices, monitor performance, and respond to incidents with speed and professionalism. You will collaborate with security, systems, and field technicians to deliver reliable connectivity for our clients.
What you'll do:
• Assist with design and deployment of wired and wireless networks
• Manage switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless controllers
• Monitor networks using SNMP-based tools and dashboards
• Troubleshoot outages and performance issues, documenting root cause and remediation
• Maintain security best practices and assist with patching and updates
• Support on-call rotations and provide excellent customer service
• Maintain network documentation and runbooks for knowledge sharing
Responsibility
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices (switches, routers, firewalls)
- Monitor network performance and respond to incidents promptly
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and outages
- Assist in designing and deploying LAN/WAN infrastructure
- Implement security controls and monitor for anomalies
- Document configurations, procedures, and runbooks
- Collaborate with IT teams and provide end-user support
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
Qualification
- 2+ years of hands-on networking experience in a corporate or MSP environment
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and VPN technologies
- Experience with Cisco or Juniper devices; familiarity with firewall configurations
- Proficient with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark)
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
- CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations
