NovaTech Global is seeking a skilled Network Technician to manage and optimize network infrastructure for our clients. In this role you will install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points; monitor network health; troubleshoot outages; and support security and compliance initiatives.
Ideal candidates are customer-focused, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced IT environment. Local candidates in Austin, TX or nearby areas preferred.
Responsibility
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points to support LAN/WAN environments.
- Monitor network performance using monitoring tools and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
- Assist with cable management, patch panels, and server room maintenance to ensure physical layer reliability.
- Respond to network incidents, diagnose issues, and implement timely remediation.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with security teams to implement access controls and baseline hardening.
- Provide on-site and remote support for end users and field technicians.
- Assist with capacity planning and equipment lifecycle management.
Qualification
- 2+ years hands-on experience with enterprise networks, routers, switches (Cisco/HP), and wireless technologies.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, ACLs, VPNs, and network security fundamentals.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
- Certification such as CCNA or equivalent; apprenticeships or combination of experience considered.
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform occasional site visits; valid driver's license.
