Job description

Pulse Network Solutions is seeking a proactive Network Technician to join our growing IT team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on maintaining reliable network infrastructure, supporting end users, and ensuring security and performance across wired and wireless networks. You will work closely with engineers to install, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices and services.

Responsibility

  • Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points across multiple sites.
  • Monitor network performance, diagnose faults, and implement remediation to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, VLANs, and VPN configurations.
  • Perform routine backups of configurations and maintain documentation for network topology and changes.
  • Troubleshoot user connectivity issues and provide timely resolutions for on-site and remote users.
  • Collaborate with security and IT teams to enforce access control, threat monitoring, and policy adherence.
  • Participate in change management, incident response, and network upgrades.
  • Document processes and participate in network health assessments and capacity planning.

Qualification

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration/maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and WAN technologies.
  • Experience with Cisco IOS/Juniper, network monitoring tools, and ticketing systems.
  • Proficiency with firewall configurations, VPNs (site-to-site and client), and wireless networking.
  • CCNA or Network+/CCNP is a plus; relevant certifications encouraged.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift moderate equipment and work from data centers or client sites as needed.
  • BA/BS in IT, Networking, or related field is preferred but not required.
